Welcome to ACTION, Inc!
ACTION, Inc. is a private non-profit adoption agency
licensed by the State of Ohio founded and operated by adoptive mothers/licensed social workers.
We invite you to stop by our agency or call
us at your convenience so that we may assist you in finding the children you were meant to have…Families are always
welcome at our Adoptive Parent Support Group which meets every Friday night at 7:00 pm.
History of ACTION
ADOPTING CHILDREN TODAY - INFORMATION/OPTION NETWORK,
better known as ACTION, Inc., began in 1994 as an
adoptive parent support group. Several of the adoptive mothers who began ACTION
were also social workers, and they began to dream of ACTION
growing into a full service adoption agency. In 1997, three of the mother/social workers, Patricia A. Hill, Sheila Jenkins
and Linda McCallister, began the licensing process to open an adoption agency. When their license was granted by the State
of Ohio in February of 1998, they had a list of families ready to begin the adoption process. ACTION continues to provide pre- and post-adoptive services to families as a 501(c)(3)
non-profit corporation.
A.C.T.I.O.N.'s Mission
At A.C.T.I.O.N. we believe that all children
have the right to a loving, caring and supportive family to aid in their growth as moral, functional members of society. Our
commitment is to aggressively recruit families for waiting children across the United States in order to create Forever Families.
A.C.T.I.O.N. does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sexual orientation,
gender identity, or gender expression. There are times when birth parents, because of their life circumstances, feel
that it is in the best interest of their child to be placed in an adoptive home. Our agency supports this choice, and we offer
support and professional assistance in helping those parents design an adoptive plan for their infant. We believe in educating prospective and adoptive families as well as the community on adoption.
